Le Romérage

Day Romérage revived an ancient local tradition, when the Lavandou was just a small hamlet of fishermen attached to Bormes. Once a year, the villagers celebrated their patron religiously-Saint-Clair,with a long and solemn procession through the streets. 
Since 1996, the district of Saint Clair, east of Le Lavandou, hosts the bust of Saint, also patron of seamstresses and whose legend he has the power to cure blindness. Punctuated by trombonnades, stopping on the beach, songs and dances, led the procession participants in the church of St. Louis to square the chapel Saint (2km). Three short plays, performed in the town square Romérage conclude this procession before making room for folk dances: Adoubement of praying, representing civil authority on the place of worship, the furnishing of offerings to the poor hermit and the revelation Penitents Whites.

THE ROMERAGE, QU'ES ACO? In Provence, "Lou Romeirage" means "Travel to Rome. Long used in this sense, it has, by extension, been used to refer to the pilgrimages, processions
